Such a simple treat. Yet, we often opt for the store-bought version high in refined sugar. There’s really no need to outsource this classic Valentine’s Day treat—make your own in under 10 minutes! This homemade version, made with @lilys_sweets, skips refined sugar while keeping all the indulgence. Makes about 40 strawberries
1 (10 oz) bag Lily’s semi-sweet or dark chocolate style baking chips
1 (10 oz) bag Lily’s white chocolate style baking chips
Optional Healthy Toppings:
Crushed cashews (or nut of choice)
Coconut flakes
Crushed graham crackers (we used Simple Mills Sweet Thins)
Instructions
Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Let them reach room temperature.Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.Set up a double boiler: Fill a pot ¼ full with water, bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat. Place a heatproof bowl on top and add ¾ of the chocolate chips. Stir until melted.Remove from heat and stir in the remaining ¼ of chocolate chips until smooth (this tempers the chocolate).Dip strawberries into melted chocolate, letting excess drip off before placing them on parchment paper.Use a fork to drizzle with extra chocolate or sprinkle with toppings.Let set at room temp for about an hour to harden or store in an airtight container for up to 24 hours at room temp or 3 days in the fridge.Enjoy and share 😘🤍
