In a food processor or high speed blender, add the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt.

  • 1 15 oz can chickpeas, rinsed

Ingredients
  

  • 1 15 oz can chickpeas, rinsed
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp evoo, plus more for serving
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor or high speed blender, add the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt.
  • Blend until it’s extra smooth, slowly drizzling in the water until it reaches the perfect consistency for you. We typically use the entire 1/4 cup of water to reach our favorite level of creaminess.
  • Garnish your hummus with any of the following ingredients to make it your own: olive oil, cooked or crispy chickpeas, cayenne, paprika, red pepper flakes, sumac, or za’atar. We used olive oil, za’atar, and red pepper flakes here. Serve with your favorite vegetables and pita bread. Enjoy 🤍

Notes

Can I use a different nut?

The sweet/salty flavor of the pistachios is what really makes this recipe great. I do not recommend using a different nut. If you want to make homemade chicken nuggets, try this recipe.

How do I know when my chicken is done?

I suggest using an instant read thermometer so you know when the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F and you can be sure they are fully cooked.

Can I double this recipe?

Yes, this recipe is easily doubled or even tripled to serve a crowd.
